With the development of world economic integration and the strengthening of trade liberalization trends, as the removal of traditional tariff and non-tariff barriers, the intellectual property barriers to trade (IPBT) as a new emerging non-tariff barriers to trade has become an important management means to adjust the interests of the trade in the developed countries, and it has an influence on China and other developing countries. Our country is the agricultural products trading powers. Every year there are a large number of agricultural products exported to Japan, the United States and the European Union and other developed countries and regions. The policy for the protection of intellectual property rights and IPBT which these countries implemented brought a lot of adverse effects on Chinese agricultural products export enterprises and agricultural product trade. Chinese scholars have made lots of correlation research on impact of IPBT to trade and achieved good results, but research on IPBT in the field of agricultural products and its influence on Chinese agricultural products trade is rarely involved, and analysis of strength is not enough. In this context, this paper dedicated to the analysis on impact of IPBT of major developed countries to Chinese agricultural products trade.This paper mainly uses the method of combining the theoretical and empirical analysis. Comb from intellectual property barriers connotation, characteristics, manifestation and relevant theories of protection of intellectual property rights. Elaborate the characteristics of IPBT of agricultural products and the status-quo of the agricultural products trade in our country, and analyze economic effect on the impact of IPBT to Chinese agricultural products trade from the perspective of export volume, export prices and terms of trade.Through empirical analysis and actual case analysis on impact of the Japanese " amendment of seeding law" to Chinese agricultural product trade,with the help of a large amount of data and charts, further expound and prove its effect. Finally according to the result of theoretical analysis and empirical research and on the basis of intellectual property protection system of agricultural products in developed countries, put forward the specific measures to deal with IPBT of agricultural products.
