The Risk Management Of Exhibition Stand Construction

Exhibition industry plays a positive role in promoting the restructuring and development of economy. Stand construction as an integral part of exhibition cannot be neglected. Since a high degree of personalization, many links and complex, involving multiple stakeholders and tight delivery time, stand construction is associated with high uncertainty and risk,This research discussed how to reduce the life-cycle risk of stand construction by applying project managing theories and tools. Taking Shanghai Maiang Company as an example, this paper introduced its overview and organization and found out that its risk management capability needed to be improved. First of all, we broke down the company’s work structure according to the theory of WBS, and put forward the work flow chart. Based on work flow chart, thirteen risks were proposed, the work flow and risk chart was also brought forward at the same time. Further more, there risks were analyzed and grouped to three main risks that are schedule risk, time risk and environment risk. In the end, strategies of dealing with risks were put forward. These strategies included Fish Bone Diagram, Network Diagram, Gaunt Figure and other specific measures.By means of WBA, risk identification and analysis, stand construction risk strategies were finally proposed as we tried to make an application of project managing tools and theories in exhibition stand construction risk reduction in the life cycle.
