The State Council came to several opinions about supporting the Representative area construction of International Cooperation in Tumen River Area (Hunchun) China on April13th2012and officially approved to set up the internationally cooperated representative area at Hunchun. Hunchun becomes the first representative area which named "China" and one of the six new pivots, in range with Dongxing in Guangxi, Ruili in Yunnan, Manzhouli in inner Mongolia, Kashi and Korgas in Xinjiang.Therefore, bringing in the foreign direct investment plays an important role in the rapid growth of the Hunchun economy. The extensive influx of foreign direct investment rapidly pushes the scale of investment increasing. An increasing number of foreign investments are attracted to start up businesses and investment in Hunchun. People ought to use the foreign investment in a reasonable way to speed up the economic development of Hunchun. This study will propose several measures and plans to provide the theoretical foundation about how to use the foreign direct investment in order to make contribution of pushing economic development of Hunchun.The number of foreign investment and foreign enterprises in Hunchun City is steadily on the increase. By contrast with Yanji City, however, there is still less about foreign direct investment in a certain extent because of the lack of theories and experiences which can be directed and utilized. The foreign direct investment is not a focus of commerce and economics theoretical research in the area. This study is mainly using empirical analysis and increases the comprehensive analytic research, combining the practical reality of the foreign direct investment in Hunchun City, with capital formation, import and export, visiting rate, quantity of employment, and advancement of technique. It generalizes the foreign direct investment influence to the economic development of Hunchun City as well as proposes pointed policies and recommendations. The development of foreign direct investment is accelerated and the foreign direct investment proportion of GDP is increasing. Currently, the situation of paid-in foreign direct investment has a certain influence on the economic development of Hunchun City. Therefore, a further investigation of the relationship between foreign direct investment and economic growth is necessary. This study is analyzing and describing the related data on the basis of general theory and conception about the economic growth relationship and foreign direct investment. Moreover, coming to understand the foreign direct investment has an important and far-reaching theoretical signification and realistic meaning to the future influence of the economic development of Hunchun City and affording relative proposals to the existing pressing issues as well as correcting and improving the foreign direct investment to the economic development in Yanbian area Hunchun City.
