Nowadays the competition of the countries mainly depends on the level ofeconomic development and the food industry is the base of the national economy.“Thefood keeps sufficient and the people will be stable.” China feed the30percent people ofthe world with only the7percent field of the whole world. So the study on the foodsecurity is not only the problem about the economics but also the problem about thepolitics in relation to the development of people’s livelihood and national economy andthe social harmony and stability. And this problem occupies an important place in thenational economy.This paper analyses the research status in food safety through studying the relateddocuments about food safety and agricultural labor force firstly. Then collecting therelated documents to help to state the supply and demand actualities of Chinese foodand the feature of the agricultural labor force, in virtue of the Translog ProductionFunction Model to analysis the Input and output effect of agricultural labor force, thispaper founds the output elasticity is negative. Nowadays the supply of our countries’food is not so stable and the agricultural labor force has the feature of ageing, lowquality and unbalanced regional distribution. And then this paper analyses the cause ofstructural shortage of agricultural labor force in the food industry in China, the foodindustry being short of attraction, comparative advantage being low and so on.Based on these factors, the paper put up the suggestions of ensuring the safety ofthe food industry from the point of agricultural labor force, improving the comparativeadvantages, training the Occupation of farmers and speeding up the construction ofpublic service in rural area.
