Analysis On The Policy Problems Of Economic Cooperation Between Guangzhou And Hong Kong Government

On the background of economic globalization, regional cooperation becomes animportant means for a city or a country to enhance its international competition power.Hong Kong is an international metropolis. Guangzhou is one of the most significanteconomical centers in china. They are closely connected by adjacent geographicallocation and similar culture，which is fairly rare in the world. There has been a longhistory of the economic cooperation between Guangzhou and Hong Kong. All ofthese contribute to the foundation of economic cooperation between Guangzhou andHong Kong. Since1978, the reform and opening policy pushes costal city Guangzhou,to open up. Meanwhile, relying on its status of an international financial center, tradecenter, transportation center and East-Asia manufacturing center, Hong Konginvest a large number of in funds, equipment, technology, management, marketinformation, and other resource to Guangdong, which contributes a great deal to theeconomic development in Guangzhou. Since1997, the further development ofeconomic cooperation between Hong Kong and Guangzhou leads to a betterdevelopment space and platform. However, although these two cities are closelygeographically connected, the economic cooperation between Guangzhou and HongKong is still not enough in depth and width. How to guide economic co-operation andexploit the advantages into full between Guangzhou and Hong Kong in order to createwin-win prospects is still a regional public management issue for two localgovernment to explore.On the basis of a number of academic research results, combined with empiricalanalysis, the thesis use certain theory knowledge to collect，sum up，analyze，andextract the essence of the economic data reports in Guangzhou and Hong Kong; usecompare analysis to compare the similarities and differences between Hong Kong andGuangzhou to guarantee the dislocation division labor cooperation；Use documentanalysis to collect and analyzes relevant domestic literature research about economiccooperation between Guangzhou and Hong Kong. The thesis analyzes the economiccooperation between Guangzhou and Hong Kong by using multiple academic theoriesof economics, game theory and the science of public administration. From theperspective of Guangzhou government, it focus on the deficiency of economic cooperation between Guangzhou and Hong Kong, which mainly concentrates on fourindustrial areas, finance, tourism, manufacturing, logistics industry. Furthermore, itconcludes the cause of the deficiency and proposes targeting economic cooperationpolicies recommendations for Guangzhou government. As a beginner, the research onthe cooperation between Guangzhou and Hong Kong is not very in-depth, proposedspecific measures remains immature, therefore this paper still needs furtherimprovement.
