Research On Interaction Mechanism Of High-tech Industrial Agglomeration And Export Trade

Scholars at home and abroad have studied the theory of industrial agglomeration andinternational trade from different angles. But there’s less research on the interaction mechanism ofindustrial agglomeration and export trade. The analysis of high-tech industry in China always baseson a nation, but there’s rarely analysis of it from a regional perspective. Therefore, this articleattempts to link the industrial agglomeration theory of international trade theory in the basis ofprevious theory and reveal the interaction mechanism of international trade and industrialagglomeration. China’s high-tech industry has been developing by leaps and bounds and has madegreat achievements. The Yangtze River Delta Economic Circle made the largest contribution to thedevelopment of China’s high-tech industry. The high-tech industry of the Yangtze River Deltaregion, both in terms of production value and in the export of high-tech products has been living inthe first of the three major economic circles. Therefore, studying the interaction mechanismbetween high-tech industrial agglomeration and export trade of the Yangtze River Delta region hasconducive for different areas to take appropriate policy measures and instruments to promote thedevelopment of high-tech industry. It has great practical significance for improving the level ofindustrial clustering, narrow the technology gap, enhancing the export competitiveness of the high-tech industry in the Yangtze River Delta region, and ultimately upgrade the industrial structure ofthe Yangtze River Delta region.In this paper, we take the high-tech industry in the Yangtze River Delta region for example,first we will use the basic theory to make a theoretical analysis of the interaction mechanism ofindustrial agglomeration and export trade, and then analyze five industries in high-tech industry intwo provinces and one city on the Yangtze River Delta region. Finally, we use panel Grangercausality test, Cointegration test in the empirical study. The results show that there’s interactiverelationship between high-tech industrial agglomeration and export trade in the Yangtze RiverDelta region. The interaction mechanism of high-tech industrial agglomeration and export tradeinclude foreign direct investment, foreign trade dependency and labor productivity. However, theactual impacts of various factors on the provinces and cities are different. Finally, the article points out some suggestions on enhancing export competitiveness and the promotion of high-techindustrial agglomeration of the Yangtze River Delta region.
