Research On Temporal Evolution And Influencing Factors Of Foreign Direct-investment In The Yangtze River Delta

The Yangtze River Delta region is one of the most dynamic regions on economic development inChina. With the reform and opening up of China, foreign-direct investment of the Yangtze River Deltaregion has growed rapidly since the1990s. Foreign-direct investment provided a steady stream powerto economic growth of the Yangtze River Delta region. But with the changes around the world, therehas also presented a number of challenges for the sustainable development of the Yangtze River Deltaregion, the most prominent of which is uneven distribution of foreign-direct investment in the YangtzeRiver Delta region.A large number of studies have confirmed that under the cumulative causation cycle effectsbetween FDI and regional economic growth, uneven distribution of foreign-direct investment willexacerbate economic disparities between the regions. So the subject of this research is temporalevolution of foreign direct-investment among25cities in the Yangtze River Delta from1990to2010.The reseach mainly divided into three parts: the law summarize, cause analysis and appliedresearch. We summed space transfer and flow law of foreign-direct investment through analysis ofchanges on time、space、time and space dimensions of FDI regional distribution in Yangtze RiverDelta. In cause analysis part, firstly, we find the influencing factors of temporal evolution of FDI inYangtze River Delta which is based on theoretical analysis. Secondly, take the full sample andsub-sample by space panel data model to identify the main factors of location decisions offoreign-direct investment.In applied research part, combined with the preceding summary of the lawand cause analysis to forecast the development trend of regional distribution of FDI in the YangtzeRiver Delta. At the same time, put forward to a number of targeted suggestions for optimizing spatialdistribution of foreign-direct investment and coordinating regional economic development of theYangtze River Delta region.
