The present work should not be regarded purely as an academic work to reflect upon, but to also be useful and applicable in business as a reference material or guide. I havechosen my dissertation topic to be:“Challenges for Foreign Entrepreneurs in China”which seeks to be a pragmatic guide that can be useful to anyone who reads itBy doing literature research and speaking to fellow expats that have been living andworking in China for a while, it is quite clear that the main challenges in doing businessin China for young entrepreneurs are the cultural differences of how business isconducted before and once it is up and running. This may come across as obvious andgeneral, however there are many layers to this. It involves many different factors, ranging from language, culture, customs, know-how, pre-established ideas of oneanother (stereotyping), and more. In a fast paced changing world, it is important to getinformation right from the source in order to portrait correctly what many people leaveoutside for considering it irrelevant. Everyday life challenges are examined here andportrait a more detailed picture of what to expect in order for a want-to-be entrepreneurto grasp a more informed impression, rather than macroeconomic figures andstereotyped or biased opinions. In this work there is an outlined exploration of thesefactors and how these different individuals find them to be challenging to overcome notjust to set up a business, but also to run it and grow it to success on a daily basisoperation.
