Economically affordable housing is one important part of affordable housing.Economically affordable housing is the important measures to protect the basic living rightsof low-income groups. In recent years, the state gradually force constructs economicallyaffordable housing. Wuhan is one of the earliest implementing the policy of constructingeconomically affordable housing in China. Wuhan began in1994to build the economicallyaffordable housing, up to now has successfully solved the living problems of poor families.But, due to improper spatial allocation, the poor families increase the costs and reduce thequality of life.This paper firstly analyzes six factors of the impact of spatial allocation ofeconomically affordable housing: land price, the transportation, the employmentopportunity, public facilities, related policies, natural environment. Then the paper analyzesthe data of economically affordable housing in Wuhan, and describes the status of spatialallocation of economically affordable housing in Wuhan: distributing in edge, centralization,regional imbalance. And it describes the problems of spatial allocation of economicallyaffordable housing in Wuhan: increasing the space differentiation and social differentiation,lacking of public facilities, lacking of convenient transportation, lacking of employmentopportunities. And it analyzes the reasons of producing those problems. Finally it putsforward some suggestions to optimize the spatial allocation of economically affordablehousing. In macroeconomic regulation, we should develop mixed living mode, increasestrength of building economically affordable housing, increase the financial support ofcentral government, and give an overall consideration of plans. In the partition layout, weshould distinguish among center and suburb, new areas.
