Land is the basis of the survival and development of human society, and it’s thefoundation of different types of economic and social activities. Land use and land coverchange (LUCC) objectively expressed the transformation of land use in the process ofrapid industrialization and urbanization process. In the background of urbanization,accompanied by a large number of resources and energy consumption, we take economicbenefits from land use, at the same time, carbon emissions caused by land use change alsoincreased significantly. Therefore, the study of urban LUCC and its carbon emissionchange effects has important theoretical and practical value in guiding land low carbonplanning and management and promoting sustainable land use and development.This research is supported by the project of the "Twelve Five" National Science andTechnology Support Program, which is undertaken by my supervisor and research groupcommitments. Based on remote sensing image data source, used the RS and GIS spatialinformation technology, and put forward the analysis methods of LUCC. Then, establishedthe calculation and analysis methods of land use carbon emissions, including thecalculation model of various land use carbon emissions, and discussed the correlationbetween LUCC and carbon emissions changes. In addition, built the land use and carbonemissions forecasting analysis methods based on time series analysis, and proposed theevaluation methods of land low carbon use by taking account of energy reduction index.To take Jiang’An District of Wuhan as the empirical research case, verified thefeasibility of the research methods established in this study. This research selected theLandsat7ETM+remote sensing image data of Jiang’An District during2000-2011asbasic data sources, established the land use and land cover database of Jiang’An District,analyzed the land use changes during the past12years. With the use of carbon emissionsmeasurement model, calculated land use carbon emissions over the years, andpreliminarily analyzed the correlation of land use and carbon emission changes. Using thetime series method, predicted the land use and carbon emissions of Jiang’An districtduring the "Twelve Five" period in the SPSS software platform, and selected the index ofenergy consumption and carbon emissions per unit GDP, evaluated low carbon level of land use in Jiang’An district during the year2015, and put forward the suggestion of lowcarbon land use.The research results show that the construction land is the major land use type ofJiang’An district, along with the development of urbanization, there is a significantincrease in area and proportion of construction land. Due to the project of Yangtze Rivermarshland construction, the area of woodland and grassland increased. While the area ofarable land, waters and bare land decreased in a certain degree, the majority of these landtypes turned into construction land. As a result, the land use carbon emissions of Jiang’Andistrict increased significantly. As a result, the land use carbon emissions of Jiang’Andistrict increased significantly. By evaluating the prediction results of land use and carbonemissions of Jiang’An district in2015, we know that the development tendency of lowcarbon land use is good.
