Study Of The Effect Of Road Transportation On The Economic Development Of Shaanxi Province

As a basic industry of national economy, transportation is the regional economicdevelopment support and guarantee. Highway transportation is a mode of transportation.With the rapid development of the highway transportation in recent years, it is of greatpractical significance to conduct research of the supporting role of highwaytransportation in regional economic development.Shaanxi province highway construction and economic development are among theforefront of the country. By the end of2011, Shaanxi province highway mileage totals152thousand kilometers, ranking first in the West. Its economy is developing rapidly aswell. In2011, Shaanxi province achieved GDP of1239.13billion yuan, maintainingtwo digit growth for10consecutive years. With the rapid development of highwayconstruction and economy, Shaanxi Province, as a microcosm of the country, the studyon the influence of the highway transportation to economic development should not beignored. This study aims to provide the decision basis for the future development ofShaanxi Province and to provide the typical model for highway transportation andeconomic development.This paper utilizes the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis. On thesummarization of comprehensive transportation and regional economic development(including the highway transportation and regional economic development) based onthe present research, it further analyzes the mutual influence of highway transportationand regional economic development and the effect of road transportation on theeconomy, the impact of industrial structure, the industrial Discusses the impact ofhighway transportation to regional economic development of the four aspects of theimpact and influence on the layout of regional.Furthermore, based on the reference of massive literature material, combinedwith the need of the study, it selects Shaanxi statistical yearbook2002to2011data asthe basis data and builds a regional economic development evaluation index system andthe evaluation index system of highway transportation. According to the construction of the value index, highway transport production index, road passenger transport, roadfreight intensity strength index of four indicators of evaluation index system, throughcalculation and analysis, it finally quantitatively demonstrates the influence of highwaytransportation in Shaanxi Province on the economic development of Shaanxi province.This paper puts forward the countermeasures to strengthen the highwaytransportation of Shaanxi province’s economic support, namely: to continue vigorouslydeveloping the highway transportation, realize the sustainable development of highwaytransportation; broadening the financing channels, protection of highway constructionfunds; Optimization of highway transportation of industrial layout; Strengthening thecoordinated development of economy and highway traffic and Shaanxi Province;optimization of city resources distribution, promoting the construction of small townsand urban and rural integration process.
