Xinjiang is located in China’s northwest region, and it is the China’s "bridgehead" of openingup to the Central Asia. Therefore, the development of the logistics industry shouldbe given adequate attention and it should play a facilitating role in economic growth. Establishinga major thoroughfare with fast and efficient flow, logistics, capital flows and other factorsof production will greatly contribute to rapid, healthy and harmonious economic developmentin China. Therefore, the unique position determines the importance of the logistics to Xinjiangand the development of the logistics industry in Xinjiang is of great significance. During theprocess of Xinjiang’s great leap forward economic development, there are new opportunitiesand challenges brought to the development of the logistics industry in Xinjiang. As a vital portalopening to the west, Xinjiang shoulder an important responsibility to communicate the CentralAsian countries in economy, culture, energy, services and so on. However, due to variousreasons, Xinjiang’s economic and logistics development is far behind the national average level.There are difficulties in the development of the logistics industry in Xinjiang, such as poorinfrastructure, non-perfect information network, harsh geographical environment and mixedtalent.
