A Comparative Study Of The Development Of Foreign Trade Of The Central And Western Regions

Since the reform and opening up policy was implemented, China has made great achievements in foreign trade by leaps and bounds, but the imbalance also exist in regional development, the development of foreign trade in the Midwest region has fallen behind the eastern region, at the same time, the gap of foreign trade between the central region and western region trade gap is larger and larger and the growth rate is also increasing. These have gradually hindered China’s foreign trade for further development. Jiangxi, Anhui, Guangxi are three typical provinces in central and western region, they are similar in the level of economic development and population size, but their trade level has greatly widen in the20years of1990-2011since the reform and opening up policy was implemented. Until2011, compared to Jiangxi and Anhui, the total size of foreign trade in Guangxi has fallen behind more than100billion, Thus, the comparative analysis between three provinces is necessary for Guangxi Foreign Trade’s improving.In the paper I have contrasted foreign trade among three provinces including phased contrast changes in20years in the total foreign trade, foreign trade partners, the structure of foreign trade, foreign investment, foreign trade mode. Then with comprehensive advantages Strategy including three aspects:exogenous comparative advantage, endogenous division of labor advantage and transaction efficiency, the main influencing factors are given, They are divided in three aspects:exogenous comparative advantage:factor endowments factor, industrial base factor; endogenous division of labor:the factor of the technological level, the factor of education level;transaction efficiency factors:infrastructure factor, policy factor, openness factor. Finally, summarize according to these factors, and then make some references for Guangxi’s foreign trade according to Anhui and Jiangxi.
