Research On The Development Of Modern Agriculture In Fengshun County, Guangdong Province

Fengshun is located in mountainous area of eastern Guangdong, southern Meizhou, adjacent to Chaoshan area. It currently has jurisdiction over17towns (fields) and its economy is based on agriculture. This paper conducts a research on the development of modern agriculture in Fengshun from the perspectives of the status-quo, achievements, existing problems and opportunite, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions, so as to providing the reference for the development of modern agriculture in Fengshun.The development of modern agriculture in Fengshun achieve following results. The overall production capacity of agriculture has been significantly enhanced; agricultural industry gradually upgraded; technical supporting ability notably improved; agricultural infrastructure continuously improved; rural management system fully innovated; quality and safety of agricultural products continuously improved; agricultural ecological environment gradually improved; farmers’income steadily increased; level of agricultural mechanization remarkably improved; and agricultural information service system constantly improved.There are some problem exsiting in the development of modern agriculture in Fengshun. Employment structure and industrial structure are asymmetry; cultivated land resources are scarce and contradiction between human and land are prominent; agricultural infrastructure are still weak; agricultural science and technology innovation ability need to be improved; rural labor force are aging, cultural quality and professional skills need improve. Causes of these problems are comprehensive and complex, such as imperfect agricultural social service system, low level of industrialization, relatively weak agricultural ecological environment, insufficient agricultural development fund, shortage of agricultural science and technology personnel and lagging rural basic education.Countermeasures of developing modern agriculture in Fengshun mainly include: optimize model for the development of modern agriculture and layout, construction of modern agriculture industrialization system, protection and improvement of agricultural ecological environment, increase of financial investment; and improvement of science and technology support system of modern ariculture.
