International trade has been considered as the engine of the developingabout economic, and it plays an important role in the national economy.Since the1960s, with the development of science and technology, a newpattern in the field of international trade is increased, namely thecoexistence of inter-industry trade and intra-industry trade. From1990s,economic globalization driving the global flow of capital, labor, technology, management and other factors of production. The rapiddevelopment of intra-industry trade has not only changed the pattern ofglobal trade but also changed the way the development of developingcountries. China and African countries have a long history ofcommunication and profound traditional friendship, there are highlycomplementary in terms of agricultural resources, market, technology, between China and African. Especially since2000, the convening of theForum on China-Africa Cooperation and the establishment of theChina-Africa new strategic partnership are both injecting new vitalityfor the development of agricultural trade between China-Africa.As to the study of intra-industry trade, Chinese scholars are mainlyconcentrating in the manufactured goods, and are relatively putting lessfocus on the agricultural industry of China and Africa. Cause theimportance of the trade in agricultural products between China and Africanis gradually rising, so the analysis on the Intra-industry Trade ofAgricultural Products between China and Africa is particularlynecessary. This paper uses the Grubel-Lloyd index and the GHM method to calculate and analyze the intra-industry trade index of agricultural products, andthen analyze its influencing factors between China and Africa. From acountry perspective, the industry trade between China and Kenya, SouthAfrica, Madagascar and other12countries are more obvious but china withother seven countries are inter-industry trade, such as Algeria, Angolaand Burkina Faso. From a chapter perspective, there are more obviousintra-industry trade in the HS03(fish and crustaceans), HS06(live treesand other living plants), HS08(edible fruits and nuts), HS13(shellac,gums and resins, etc.), HS22(drinks, wine and vinegar), HS3301(essential oils, balms, etc.), but in the whole, China and Africaagricultural trade is inter-industry trade based. Through the analysisof G-H-M method, it concludes that the agricultural trade between Chinaand the African is mainly vertical industry trade, and the tradecommodities is mainly of different products. Besides, the regressionanalysis shows that the market structure has a negative effect on theintra-industry of agricultural products between China and Africa, but thedifferences of GDP between China and Africa and trade policies have apositive effect on it.The innovation of this paper are following three points: Firstly, theresearch perspective is innovative, the studies on China-Africaagricultural trade are always macro, so this paper starting from themicroscopic point of view, and taking into account the macroeconomicfactors to research China-Africa agricultural trade as well as itsintra-industry trade, during the research, it selects some specificcountry representatives and made this paper had certain forward-lookingconcrete; Secondly, the research methods is innovative, the empiricalanalysis section based on panel data, it builds the economic model andintroducing the relevant factors into the model, so as to research therelevance between the industry trade and economies of scale, the per capita GDP, investment, national trade policy; Thirdly, after specificstudies, this paper summarizes targeted strategy in different nationallevel, different size of the economy and international trade dimension, these has certain guiding significance of the practice.
