Pesearch The Employment Effects Of Suzhong Economic Region’s Industrial Structure Variation

Suzhong economic region, which is located in the coastal and river basins of thetwo economic belts, plays the role linking the South and the North in Jiangsuprovince. Recently, Suzhong has got great development with its obvious locationadvantages as a region in Shanghai and Beijing’s three-hour economic circle, butcompared with the developed areas such as Sunan, the economy in Suzhong is stillrelatively backward and its industrial structure has not yet achieved the best. Toachieve the sound and rapid development goals in Suzhong economic region, it’snecessary to optimize and upgrade the industrial structure. Therefore, it hasimportant practical significance to find out the way to collaborative development ofindustry structure and employment structure.Through analyzing the industry development and summarizing the evolutiontrend of industry structure and employment structure from2000to2011, this paperfound that Suzhong economic region is in the middle stage of industrialization andthe industrial structure is not reasonable. Second, the degree of heavy industry ishigh. Besides, secondary industry has the lowest concentration relative to the entireJiangsu Province. On this basis, the paper analyzed the correlation between theSuzhong economic region in the employment structure and industrial structurechanges. Through the quantitative analysis of the structure deviation degree as wellas the employment elasticity, the author thought that the industrial structure andemployment structure of the three industries have varying degrees of disharmony,and the degree of mismatch between the first and secondary industries is higherthan that of tertiary industry. This paper also analyzed the effect of industrialstructure on employment by regression analysis, exploring that the adjustment ofindustrial structure impact on employment to a positive net effect in the long-term,will eventually promote the growth of employment.Finally, in accordance with all the analysis, the paper put forward several policyrecommendations to promote employment and optimize the industrial structure.
