After the international financial crisis in2008, the Basel Committee on banking supervision strengthened the research on the operation and supervision of international banking system. In2010December, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision announced the "Basel Ⅲ", providing a global framework for future global banking regulation mechanism."Basel Ⅲ" remained the capital adequacy ratio supervision as the main body of bank regulation. But it also adopted prudential guidelines, which must make bank capital more objective and comprehensive of banks to reflect the risk.China joined in the Basel Committee on banking supervision in2009, becoming one of the27member states. It provided Chinese banking industry for opportunities and challenges. On one hand China should gradually meet with the Basel Ⅲ requirements, to keep in line with foreign banks, on the other hand, it should takes its own conditions of economic and financial development in to account.This paper firstly introduces the significance and background of the topic, an then the main methods of research, ideas and structure of the paper. The first chapter is the literature review, which introduces the research on capital adequacy ratio supervision at home and abroad. The second chapter includes two parts. First it talks about the evolution of capital adequacy supervision at the background of the Basel agreement, and then the history of capital adequacy ratio of commercial bank supervision in China. The third chapter introduces the main idea of Basel III and Chinese banking system regulation in the post-crisis era. The fourth chapter uses a mold to check relationship between the efficiency or risk and capital adequacy ratio under the Basel III. The fitfh chapter gives some suggestions to capital adequacy ratioregulation of commercial banks under the Basel III, including our country commercialbank overall, listed banks and city commercial banks.
