Along with the increasingly furious financial competitions, the diversification of customer service demands and the fast-changing technological breakthroughs, organizational change and performance improvement admit of no delay all the more. If financial enterprises have been aware of the challenges faced with and have been taking measures, then the fundamental factor must be performance, whether it is product, customer-orientation, service quality, production efficiency or financial cost being worried about. Many small-sized legal person financial institutions haven’t been able to effectively cope with these challenges, as they haven’t laid a foundation for persistent performance improvement. However, such situation is incurred because the managers of most financial institutions are not clear about the variants affecting the organization, department and individual performance rather than they don’t have the intention or resources to solve the problem. Hence, studies on performance improvement have been quite necessary.First, some concepts relevant to performance, performance improvement and sustainable development is set forth primarily, an introduction to some performance improvement methods upheld by the business circles currently is made and their actual target audiences are analyzed in this article; then, the design based on sustainable-developed department performance improvement scheme is probed into. This part is the key to this article and is established in the performance improvement from a new angle, upon which the specific contents of sustainable-developed department performance improvement are discussed and a complete department performance improvement scheme is built up by taking Yuyao Rural Cooperative Bank as an example; last, our deficiencies and prospects are summed up and the major contents being studied in this article are summarized. Besides, the aspects to be probed into and discussed are brought forth.On the premise that the practices and theoretical background relevant to performance improvement are fully understood, I attempt to analyze the availability of performance improvement methods from multi-angles by combining the relevant domestic and foreign research findings in this scheme. I also attempt to start from systemic thinking to find out the influencing factors of performance improvement, analyze the characteristics of these factors and consider how to integrate these factors with the sustainable development of the organization comprehensively in order to achieve the "win-win situation" between the sustainable development of the organization and the performance of departments. Of course, merely some preliminary explorations are made in this article so as to lay a foundation for an impeccable department performance improvement scheme in the future.
