The Study On The Impact Of Environmental Accounting Information Disclosure To Listed Companies Performance Between Mainland Of China And Taiwan

Environmental issues is no doubt the hot issues of today’s economic development, how to protect the environment, with rapid economic development in all countries, to achieve harmony between man and nature to survive, are a problem for several years. In the research areas of Accounting, slowly adding the factors related to environmental protection, open environment accounting information disclosure study. Environmental accounting information disclosure is in the forefront in the field of accounting, many studies have shown that environmental accounting information disclosure is able to reduce environmental pollution, to some extent, make supervision and constraints on productive enterprises. Background in environmental issues and sustainable development has become an inevitable trend, people’s awareness of environmental protection is enhancing, they have a great concern to the quality of the environmental information provided by the enterprise. Environmental accounting information disclosure has become important in accounting research.on the basis of Environmental accounting information disclosure research both at home and abroad have a comprehensive summary on the meaning of environmental accounting, environmental accounting disclosure connotation and the regulation of environmental accounting information disclosure. I choose the food industry listed companies to be the representatives of industry because the food industry are inextricably linked to people’s daily lives and the environment. Most of the previous literature empirical is about influencing factors of environmental accounting information disclosure, there is little literature from environmental accounting information disclosure on firm performance. Corporate always have pursuit of profit maximization, even if focusing on environmental protection for sustainable development. But also will take into account more corresponding costs and benefits. Environmental accounting information disclosure enables corporate performance enhancement will make corporate awareness of the voluntary disclosure of environmental accounting information, so this study is meaningful.The innovation of this paper is a comparative analysis across the Taiwan Strait, from the comparative analysis of the cross-strait environment accounting information disclosure regulation, to the contrast of the environmental accounting information disclosure in the status of cross-strait food industry comparative analysis, and then on the impact of environmental accounting information disclosure to enterprise performance between two sides comparison analysis. In the paper, an empirical study on the impact of environmental accounting information disclosure to corporate performance, selected the panel data of47companies in food industry in mainland and20companies in food industry in Taiwan from2006to2011.Environmental accounting information disclosure measured by9module scored27indicators to calculate the environmental accounting information disclosure index. Enterprise performance evaluation use factor analysis derived from a composite score of12financial indicators, designed to prove environmental accounting information disclosure to corporate performance are significantly positive impact and expect encouraging enterprises to strengthen the disclosure of environmental accounting information disclosure. Finally, through comparative analysis to identify differences and put forward suggestions for the status, aims for give some support to the design of China’s environmental accounting information disclosure system and the implement of enterprises disclosure and other aspects.
