Enterprise cluster has an extremely important significance for economicdevelopment, has become a worldwide economic phenomenon. The economist Marshallet al as early as the1920s of the last century started to pay attention to the problems ofenterprise clusters. Subsequently, the enterprise cluster, because of the sharing ofresources and complementary advantages, resource integration and interoperability, hasgradually become the focus and hotspot issues of the new economic geography, industrialeconomics, regional economics, management science and many other disciplines. In the current economic situation, technological change cycles continue to shorten, with the growing number of competitors, China’s enterprises are facing increasingly fiercecompetition. In order to maintain the technological innovation capability and marketposition, the companies in the enterprise cluster have to continue to increase investmentin technology, The technological innovation capability is not only the key to maintaintheir competitiveness and sustainable development, but also affecting the profits ofenterprises in the cluster. Admittedly, technological progress and technological innovationhave become an important source of competitive advantage. R&D activities are source ofentrepreneurial activity, playing a crucial role in the process of technological innovationactivities. However, with the continuous progress of modern science and technology, onecompany don’t have all necessary resources and technical competence, so it is difficult torely on their own ability to complete the whole innovation process. Therefore, the R&Dcooperation between enterprises is becoming a trend. Many companies have turned to anexternal perspective, seeking cooperation with other companies, for common orcomplementary technological innovation objectives. Therefore, this article focuses on theimpacts of different innovation models. This article, based on AJ model, taking the actual situation into account, relaxes theoriginal assumptions of AJ model, and adds the heterogeneity coefficient into the model. The study focus on the performance of enterprises under different R&D models, with thepurpose of providing adequate theoretical basis for the corporate when choosing theirR&D models.
