With the economic globalization has been accelerating gradually, the world isbeing flat, it makes the competition among the manufacturing enterprises beincreasingly fierce, to become a world-class manufacturing enterprise has becomestrong pursuit of each manufacturing enterprise. More and more manufacturingenterprises started to promote the enterprise operation performance through the world-class manufacturing practices application. The existing research has found thatmanufacturing enterprise can better satisfy the customer diversification demand, reducethe cost, and ensure the quality of products through the application of world-classmanufacturing practices. The application of world-class manufacturing practices formanufacturing enterprises to improve the operation can provide security performancelevel, and the enterprise operation performance is the important component of themanufacturing enterprise performance, is the important prerequisite of manufacturingenterprise to the financial performance. Therefore, it has the important meaning toanalysis the effect and the mechanism of the world-class manufacturing practices to theoperation performance, so as to improve the manufacturing enterprise operationperformance.Firstly, this paper analyzed the influence of theoretically four basic world classmanufacturing practices (JIT, TQM, TPM, SCM) to manufacturing enterprise operationperformance (quality performance, cost performance, flexible performance, deliveryperformance), and the moderating effect of the competition strategy (the differentiationstrategy, total cost leadership strategy) to world class manufacturing practice andenterprise operation performance relations, and put forward the relationship modelbetween the world-class manufacturing practices and operation performance based onthe enterprise competition strategy moderating effect. Then used the687IMSS-Vmanufacturing enterprise survey data, this study verify the world-class manufacturingpractice to the operation performance impact through the related analysis andhierarchical regression analysis used SPSS16.0software program. The empirical resultsshow that different world-class manufacturing practices not only have differentinfluence for the operation performance of specific aspect, but also to the influencedegree of the same operation performance is also different. The study also found thatcompetition strategy has moderating effect in some relationship between the world-classmanufacturing practices and operation performance, but strength and direction isdifferent of the moderating effect for different competitive strategys to specific worldclass manufacturing practice and specific operation performance. Finally, according tothe empirical results, this paper analyzed the influence of the world-class manufacturingpractices to the operation performance based on the different competition strategys moderating effect, and put forward the manufacturing enterprise should selectingworld-class manufacturing practices for enterprise development according to theperformance consistency and the enterprise strategic consistency from the formulatingof the enterprise competition strategy, the identifying of the operation performance andthe aspecting of the world-class manufacturing practices.
