Since the reform and opening policy was implemented especially since the late80s in20th Century, in the course of economic system transition and social structure change in China, the unit system gradually turn to disintegration. The problems caused by the revolution of state-owned larger-sized enterprise always under the strong spotlight. About this issue the academic circles already completed multiple studies, as political, economy and culture etc.This study focus on the LYT community space which built began from the new China’s first five-year plan. Spatial turn is regarded as one of the contemporary developmental trends in social theories. This research try to employ the key word ’space’to study the case, in order to figure out the change of the whole unit community space. One hand, the production of specific space involved related ideology and production relations. On the other hand, the space itself also has its unique productivity.This study is divided into five parts. Chapter I introduction, proposes questions consciousness, review domestic and international studies about work unity system, community system and urban space theory, and explain theoretical framework and research methods. The Chapter Ⅱ presents the differences of this space from planned economy to market economy. By investigation and interview, the working space gradually separate from the living space which once closely together. Meanwhile, the individual identity began to change. The Chapter III focuses on the daily life function in specific space. Respectively from the cultural space, sports space and life service places to discuss. The Chapter IV studies the intergeneration in LYT space. Try to find the change of space producers and in reverse the changed space how to shape individuals. The Chapter V conclusions and Implications section, try to rethinking the whole paper. Also prospects unique way for China’s urban community development.
