With the rapid development of global informationization and rejuvenation of ourinformation industry economy, the cable network embraces a great developmentopportunity. The development above promotes the network infrastructure to developcontinually. After the reconstruction of the tradiontal cable TV network, the networkenters a stage of double direction network upgrade.Various equipment brands anddifferent network standards make it difficult to manage the whole network, and thereasons above fail to meet the requirements of network operation goals and its reliabledevelopment. Therefore, it’s necessary to shield the differences devices to establishintegrate unified netwok management system to unified management for devices.First, this paper summary the characteristics of HFC network, combined with theTCP/IP protocol summarize the relevant technology with SNMP protocol (SimpleNetwork Management Protocol) and HFC (hybrid fiber coax). On this basis, design akind of SNMP Agent proxy server to manage the escrow network device, and analysismulti-vendor EoC equipment access. With EoC equipment for example, briefdescription of the managed HFC equipment to achieve different access technologieswork process methods and processes.Through the study of front-end devices of cable television network monitoringsystem and software development, form unified network management view andcentralized alarm monitoring. To account for the several main function of managementin the network management system, include: configuration/topology management、fault management、performance management、security management. Finally, introduceseveral docking solutions with third-party systems.
