The ship target detection based on remote sensing image is an important researchdirection in the field of ocean target detection. Especially, maritime security situationhas become more and more complex now. The ship target detection based on remotesensing image has become a research focus of scholars and experts from variouscountries, which has great research value and broad application prospects in the fields ofwaterway transportation management, sea control and etc.Aiming at the problems of rapid detection and accurate speed estimation of shiptargets in optical remote sensing images, firstly,the common algorithm for targetdetection and speed estimation method was introduced, and a principle framework ofship target detection and speed estimation method was build. Then, this paper putsforward an algorithm based on ship target detection in optical remote sensing image.Noise, uneven exposure and cloud interference images were viewed as the researchobject, combining sea image with complex background and the imaging characteristicsof ship target, overall utilizing mage pre-processing, dodging processing and anti-cloudinterference algorithm and etc., rapid and accurate implementation and ship targetdetection in complex background. According to the characteristics of differentresolution remote sensing imaging of wakes image driving ship, studying the physicalrelationship between the parameters and the speed of ship wake, the paper finally putsforward two methods of estimation of ship speed in different resolution.
