With the rapid development of the automotive industry, traditional detectiontechnologies and systems cannot fully meet inspection needs for the processes ofautomotive production which processes components and fast, high-precision work inthe assembly process. The connecting rod is one of the main transmission sections ina car engine. The technology of connecting rod splitting has a direct effect on theperformance of automobile engines. The quality of the technology of connecting rodfracture splitting of the engine directly affects the process results of connecting rodsplitting. This paper presents a method of external dimensions detection of engineconnecting rod fracture splitting groove based on machine vision, for the linedetection problems of connecting rod fracture splitting grooves, to achieve fast andaccurate detection of geometry parameters of the engine connecting rod fracturesplitting.Detection target is the decisive factor in the hardware configuration of thesystem. According to detect the target——Features laser fracture splitting tankengine connecting rod, the paper researches the cleavage groove geometry engineconnecting rod vision inspection system consisting of cameras,6x zoom lens, light,light controller, a programmable logic controller (PLC), frame grabbers, an industrialcomputer and related equipment. The method is to obtain an image of the engineconnecting rod laser fracture splitting tank through the camera by Otsu adaptivethreshold algorithm and background image segmentation, then fit the edges of theimage segmentation and processed through a multi-scale watershed algorithm.Finally, according to the Hough principle, transform to extract characteristicparameters through the detection and identification methods to obtain information.In this paper, Microsoft Visual C++2010us used to run as a softwaredevelopment platform image processing using OpenCV library components, MFCdesign and development of laser fracture splitting tank engine connecting rod visual inspection system based on the geometric parameters of the software. By visualinspection system for engine connecting rod test piece, the test results show that themethod is feasible and is robust to meet the fast, high-precision testing requirementsof the engine connecting rod laser fracture splitting groove, automotive rod laserfracture splitting solving process laser fracture splitting groove detection...
