Research On The Application Of The Message Communication Mechanism In Manufacturing Oriented Pdm System

Along with the development of computer technology and the coming of theinformation age, it becomes an important way to enhance the comprehensivecompetitiveness of enterprises by combining the information technology with thetraditional manufacturing industry and to boost the development of the enterprises viainformationization.PDM system, which means Product Data Management system, is a kind ofpowerful management software which helps enterprise to manage all the data andprocedures related to product, and it gains its popularity among enterprises recently.The Message Communication Mechanism in PDM system, which is responsiblefor the inner communication within the system, its major responsibility is dispatchingmessages and communication requests among the Client, Server and Database. As thebridge which connects function sections in the PDM system, how the MessageCommunication Mechanism applied in the system and the effects of its applicationdetermines the level of information sharing and exchanging and it also affects theinformatization level and the collaboration efficiency among the staff.For enhancing the level of informatization of enterprise, solving the problem of“Information Island”, and promoting the efficiency of collaboration, by using a PDMsystem which is self–developed by Jilin University as the research background, thispaper researched on the application of the Message Communication Mechanism inPDM system. The main works of this paper are as follows:(1) Analyzed the functional requirements of the application of the MessageCommunication Mechanism in PDM system based the complete function structure ofthe PDM system.(2) Described the Message Communication Mechanism model which is the basisof the research of this paper detailed, this model has several advantages such as it isstable and has strong compatibility, and satisfies the communication requirements inPDM system.(3) Classified the functional requirements of the application of the MessageCommunication Mechanism in PDM system into two categories, described anddesigned every function in details.(4) Displayed and analyzed the implementation results and effects of the application of the Message Communication Mechanism in PDM system. Demonstratedby the implementation results, the application methods presented in this paper meet therequirements of the message passing, data sharing and synchronization, usernotification and user collaboration,.etc. These application methods have favorable userexperience, and they also help to enhance the PDM system in various aspects such asstability and data security, the research conducted in this paper makes practical value.
