It has lead to the development of port enterprises and made safety of the channel receivemore attention that the rapid growth of shipping economy. In recent years, the WaterwaySafety Intelligent Monitoring System is widely used in the supervisory department of harborchannel. However, the systems generally use a model of "GPS+Embedded system+GPRS".It has the disadvantages of the small coverage area of signal and the communication link islimited by the relay station. So, it is unable to build the data communication between aids tonavigation which is far away from the coast and the server. The Compass Satellite NavigationSystem (CSNS) of independent research and development in China not only has theadvantages of accurate location, navigation, timing and other functions, also provides ShortMessage Communication Service. It can establish the communication link without Relaystation. The BSNS provide a new way for the monitoring of safety of waterway.The paper research and develop the Intelligent Waterway Safety Monitoring Systembased on CSNS combined data acquisition, data storage, network communication, WEBprogramming technology by using the embedded software and hardware platforms. System isdivided into data collection terminals (intelligent aids to navigation), the server (dataprocessing center) and the client. It achieve the forecasting and monitoring ofhydro-meteorological information of the waterways and the nearby waters and intelligentmanagement of aids to navigation by means of remote sensing and control, dynamiccollection, analysis waterway environmental parameters for providing security for the ship totravel.The paper introduces the design and implementation of intelligent channel safetymonitoring system based CSNS. First, the paper makes overall design by analyzing the needof waterway safety monitoring system; Second, describes the design and implementation ofdata collection terminals of the system, including the selection of the key components ofhardware, monitoring and configuration unit, Compass communications and positioning unit,hydro-meteorological information acquired unit and power unit; Third, describes the designand implementation of software components of the data process center,include theimplementation of Compass Communications Unit,the design of database and the operations and models of Arithmetic logic unit; Finally, test and analyze the design effects of datacollection terminal of system.
