In recent years, the relationship between media attention and corporate performancehas become a hot research topic. More and more studies show that media attention has asignificant effect on corporate performance. On the one hand, media attention will attractinvestors’ attention, affect investors’ sentiment, which ultimately affect corporateperformance; on the other hand, media attention will effectively control marketmanipulation、" black-box " and other irregularities to make the market run regularly andthe corporate develop healthy.Based on the relevant literature, they discussed limited attention, the inner meaning ofmedia attention. the thesis analyze media attention affecting corporate performancesystematically, clarify the configuration of media attention on impacting investor attentionon the basis of resource scarcity theory, finite cognitive theory and asymmetric informationtheory. Meanwhile, from the point of financial way, management approaches and corporategovernance approaches, the thesis proposes media attention impacting on the businessperformance, proposes four hypotheses, and establishes the appropriate model. On thestatus of pharmaceutical companies and the relevant empirical data analysis, majorindicators of performance incurred are as follows: total assets returning, financial level,economic level, asset-liability ratio and company size, etc. Therefore, in order to play themedia attention the positive effects on firm performance, we should do; one shouldstrengthen the government’s traction, play media attention supervision of listed companies;Second, companies should be willing to be taken media attention; Third, enterprises shouldestablish its own reputation effecting management system; Fourth, the government shouldstrengthen penalty system for the exposure of companies’negative news.
