Ultra long distance optical fiber transmission system is the integration of a series of technology. The application of this technology could reduce the complexity of maintenance and reduce maintenance costs of the network operators, because photoelectric relay equipments are not needed. In Inner Mongolia area, the population density is low, the network structure is scattered, the high voltage transmission lines are generally long, and there are many power supply network unreliable regions. So, the ultra long distance optical fiber transmission system is fit for this area.In this paper, the author introduced the optical amplifier technology in detail, introduced the applications of Raman optical amplifier technology (FRA) in actual circuits through the cases in Inner Mongolia electric power communication networks and provided specific solutions for the optical dispersion tolerance and optical fiber attenuation problems in the2.5G ultra long distance SDH optical fiber transmission circuits.With the development of power system, optical fiber communication distance become longer and longer, power communication in complex and remote areas become more and more intensive, and the advantages of ultra long distance optical transmission system will be more and more obvious. This system could provide a strong guarantee for the stable, safe and economic operation of power system. This technology has high application value.
