Delay Tolerant Network is abstracted from Ad Hoc Network, Sensor Network and so on. The Communication Network for remote areas is an import deployment of DTN. In those areas people can use the mechanism of DTN by relying on the devices which are low-cost and easy to carry to build a Mobile Delay Tolerant Network (MDTN).And then they use the devices to transmit messages according to the store-carry-forward mechanism. This kind of network does not depend on the infrastructure and is easy to deploy. In addition, it can overcome the drawback of existing ISPs (Internet Service Providers), that is, the coverage rate is low in remote areas. While the devices are easy to carry, they are also energy-constraint. A node may not be willing to forward messages for others when its energy level is low. The existing energy schedule policies are not suitable for the MDTN.Regarding for the application environment and characteristics of MDTN, this thesis introduces an energy schedule policy based on Binary Spray-and-Wait Routing Protocol. It has been studied mainly from the following aspects:1.Making a comparison of existing energy schedule policies.2. According to the feature of energy-constraint, the selfish behavior is introduced.3. In order to fulfill the need of MDTN, an energy-aware Binary Spray-and-Wait Router is proposed.4. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, an assessment system is put forward.5. Simulation work is conducted based on the real trace and comparison work with other existing routings is undergone.
