With the rapid development of China’s economy, the requirement of the navigation and positioning technology is increasing in every field of social life and production. Especially in urban transportation, modern logistics and high-speed rail transit field, the demand of a kind of high-precision, high-reliability, low-cost positioning technology is increasingly growing. As a novel research hotspot, integrated navigation system due to its potential advantages gradually becomes the main developing trend of the location and navigation technology, which is widely applied in military and civilian fields.By analyzing the principle, system composition and combination mode of different integrated navigation system, a novel design of Vehicle integrated navigation system based on satellite positioning and Dead Reckoning (DR) is proposed in the paper in the comprehensive consideration of the positioning accuracy, system reliability, economic cost and technological realization etc. The BD Navigation Satellite System is added to supply the Global Positioning System (GPS) in the satellite positioning system, thus the precision and continuity of the satellite positioning is enhanced and the security of the satellite positioning system is improved. Meanwhile, an advanced scheme of sensor combination of biaxial accelerometer, single gyroscope and tilt sensor is proposed in the DR system, which improves the precision of DR system. Moreover, the reliability and real time operation performance of the integrated navigation system can be enhanced by applying the double CPU structure system in the operation control module. To further enhance and improve the positioning accuracy and system performance of the Integrated Navigation System, the data of GPS/BD and DR system is firstly processed by the Federal Kalman filter algorithm of "Current" statistical model, and further adaptively selected by the information fusion scheme based on the Position Dilution of Precision (PDOP) provided by the satellite receiver. After the high-speed(200km/h) railway field tests, the proposed integrated navigation system is enable to maintain a high positioning accuracy and reliability of the system in the high-speed environment, which can also correct the navigation error owing to the problem of system installation to some degrees and provide a reference for the design of high precision navigation system with low cost.
