Channel coding is a technology to ensure that the information could betransmitted in a reliable way under channel interference, and it is widely used inmodern digital communication system. The error control coding method forcorrecting independent error has poor performance for the burst error correctionespecially in multipath fading channels which based on burst errors, but as a channelcoding scheme, the performance of turbo code is exceedingly excellent, theinterleaver plays a crucial role which used in the coding structure. The interleaver notonly reduces the correlation between the parity information of the output codeword,changes the untranslatable burst errors into random errors which can be translated, butalso improves the weight distribution of the output codeword, which can significantlyimproves the performance of turbo codes.This paper describes the achievement of turbo coding and decoding moduleconcerning the3GPP standard which completed by author. At the same time, itproposes a chaotic interleaver based on ICMIC equation according to the turbointerleaver design requirements and study of several other already existing interleaver.Finally, the comparison result shows that the chaotic interleaver holds a better BERperformance over3GPP standard interleaver and S-random interleaver by the meansof simulation experiments.
