At present, the conventional lens are almost used in many machine vision system, itsviewing angle are limited to forty degrees to fifty degrees, only partial information can beobtained and large visual field of blind area are existed, thereby limiting the application rangeof the visual system. In order to solve this problem,this paper introduced the structure ofspherical compound eye into the field of image measurement, studied the design method ofmulti-view image measuring system and the image measurement based on the measuringsystem.Firstly, this paper introduced the relevant technology development history, status andtrends of the computer vision and image measurement technology. Compared imagingproperties of spherical compound eye and traditional surface compound eye, a multi-viewimage measurement system was designed, and two image measurement systems based on thestructure of spherical nine compound eye were obtained through multiple cameras androtating the camera two methods for simulating the plan, and each part of the systems wereanalyzed.Secondly, simulating visual functions of insect compound eye, a panorama mosaicalgorithm of a multi-view image measurement system based on spherical nine compound eyewas proposed. The whole seamless panorama mosaic process of multi-view image sequence iscompleted automatically, and the field of view is enlarged in multi-directions, which makesup the defect of the traditional wide screen panorama. In addition, a measurement method ofmulti-view image was presented in this paper. According to the internal and externalparameters of the camera, the space position of the feature points and the size of object werecalculated quickly based on multi-view image match and the technology of self-calibration ofthe camera.Finally, using a building as the measurement target, an image measurement experiment was carryed out by the multi-view image measure system and method, and the error analysiswas given in this paper. Experiments prove that the two measuring results error within twopercent; and it indicates that the method is applied in the large field measurements, andthere are superiorities in the speed and intelligence as well.
