Image fusion is to combine the two or more images derived from the same scene or target into a new image by image fusion algorithm to extract the complementary information. The fused image can provide more information than the origin image. Image fusion in military and civil fields has been widely applied. This paper mainly studies the polarization image fusion algorithm. The purpose of paper is that can effectively improve the image quality of laser polarization in the turbid medium, so that the next step for us can detection, identification, analysis and processing of the target information in the turbid media.According to the low image sharpness and contrast characteristics of polarization image in turbid medium, propose a new polarization image fusion algorithm based on NSCT transform. The fusion thought of low frequency coefficients are that according to the local area energy matching degree to select and according to the local area energy ratio as fusion weight coefficient adaptive; the fusion thought of high frequency coefficients’are that according to the double threshold method of correlation coefficient and spatial frequency combination of three channel adaptive selection.The simulation results of the proposed fusion method in this paper are compared with conventional fusion methods and related articles to improve fusion methods of objective methods of comparative analysis. The experimental results showed that the proposed image fusion method is better than traditional image fusion methods and related articles improved image fusion method in dealing with turbid medium laser polarization image fusion respect, can make the polarization fusion image target quality (visual perception, contrast and sharpness) better.
