OPO as a kind of high coherence tunable laser source has been attracting many researchers for its unique characters. And the high peak power of optical parametric oscillator is of great importance in many fields. Currently, It in laser medical treatment, laser industrial processing, laser radar, spectral analysis, and other fields has a broad application prospect. This makes the peak power optical parametric oscillator became the research hot spot.This paper has designed a LD end pumped passive tuning Q2.1μm, optical parametric oscillator theory embarks from the coupled wave equations, the operating characteristics of OPO study, analyses the OPO in the case of double resonance threshold and the conversion efficiency, for optical parametric oscillator design and parameter optimization to provide necessary theoretical basis. Experiments using passive tuning Q1064nm Nd:YVO4laser as the pumping source, design a set of pumping external cavity bonding the OPO KTP crystal compensation off the effect, through the Angle tuning peak power of2.1μmm degenerate state laser output. In design peak power2.1μm KTP OPO, we concluded the crystal KTP has carried on the detailed analysis, determine the KTP crystals in x-z plane cutting, cutting Angle is52°25’。When the repetition frequency of5kHz, pulse width of2.1μm laser output of OPO for17.72ns,The peak power is6.3kW.
