The distribution of the energy density of the laser spot is the important parameter for evaluation of the laser beam quality, which can be reflected by the spot intensity profile image. The propagation process of the laser beam can be seen as is made up of a ordered intensity profile image of the different transmission position in space. Therefore, the numerical simulation of laser propagation is an important method to study laser propagation characteristics.Firstly, the scalar diffraction theory is introduced as the theoretical basis of the simulation. Secondly, we obtain the distribution of the energy density and wavefront of source field as a simulation input parameters by centroid algorithm, interpolation algorithm and wavefront reconstruction algorithm; Finally, we choose multi-step propagation method as the simulation algorithm by a detailed study of several different propagation methods of sampling limitations and the scope and verify the science and the accuracy of the simulation algorithm by making the comparison of actual measurement data and simulation data.Analysing the propagation process by the method of numerical simulation can be able to provide a valid data comparison and save manpower and material resources for field test in complex environment, which has a very important practical significance. |
