Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology is an efficient data transmission technology with better anti-multipath-fading ability and higher spectrum efficiency. As one of the core technologies of the fourth generation of mobile communication systems, it has been studied extensively in the field of civil and military applications. This paper focuses on the OFDM signal detection methods, but most studies have focused Gaussian channel environment, and the researches under Rayleigh fading channel environment are little rare and the effects are not well. To this end, this paper’s main work as follows:Firstly, we can know the various OFDM signal detection methods applicable to the environment, the detection performance, advantages and disadvantages through summarizing the literature, and the focus of research is detection methods applicable to Rayleigh fading channel environment. At the same time, in order to obtain accurate channel state information, we analyze the channel estimation methods by the use of simulation experiment. After that, according to the features of OFDM signals, such as Gaussianity, autocorrelation and cyclostationarity, a joint detection method based on the cumulants and cyclostationary parameters is proposed in the Rayleigh fading channel environment. This method can effectively suppress the noise and frequency selective fading, and make up for the shortage that the commonly used methods are difficult to distinguish between the Gaussian signals and OFDM signals.
