With progress of the wireless communication and increasing demand of the human, the requirement of communication speed and quality continue to increase in the wireless communication system. Multi-antenna communication system not only can change system performance, but also improve the communication system capacity and spectrum efficiency without increasing the bandwidth. The future4G communication provides the higher speed data transfer and quality of communication for wireless internet and various media services, so the coding techniques are used to offer high-speed and high-quality data transmission that attract widespread attention.Firstly, this paper overviews the research background and reviews the origin, development and research status of the low-density parity-check codes (LDPC) and the space-time block codes (STBC). Survey the propagation characteristics of electromagnetic waves in wireless communication system, then summarize the statistics model of fading channel and system model of the MIMO communication. Finally, this paper discusses the coding and decoding theory and methods of the low density parity check codes and space-time codes.Secondly, this paper focuses on the representation method, construction methods and coding/encoding methods of LDPC; the design criteria of the space-time code word, encoding and decoding methods. In the cooperative MIMO communication model, I analyses the system architecture of the LDPC codes and STBC codes, especially use a no4-grith encoding method of LDPC codes and STBC to simulate. Based on the analysis of the asynchronous cooperative communication architecture in the fading channel, think over the inter-symbol interference (ISI) cased by the propagation delay, I use the STBC adding guard interval to minimize the ISI, in order to improve transmission quality and reduce error rate. Finally, in the case of the simulation of a communication, I use the encoding method to encode the image and transmit code-word to destination node. The effectiveness of joint encoding method is proved performance simulation diagram and image transmission simulation figure.
