Ad hoc Network is a wireless communication network which consists of several mobile wireless communication devices without the fixed infrastructures. It can be deployed in a short time. Ad hoc Network is a distributed, no central, self-organizing network. In recent years, as the multimedia applications has appeared in the Ad hoc Network, it puts forward the higher requirement to the routing protocol of the Ad hoc Network, how to ensure the reliable transmission of multimedia information in the Ad hoc Network has become the new research direction.Today, the researchers have proposed a significant number of the multipath routing protocols. Compared with the single-path routing protocols, Multipath routing protocols have many advantages in loading balancing, improving reliability and fault tolerance of routing protocols. But, the proposed multipath routing protocols do not consider the Radio-disjoin among nodes on multipath, because the improvement of the multipath performance is not obvious. The traditional way which uses flooding to find a multipath routing will greatly increase the network overhead and further exacerbating the network load.In order to transmit the data on multiple paths in parallel, this paper presents Opportunity-based and Interference-free Multipath Routing Protocol for Ad hoc Network (OIMR).OIMR has two parts:the construct of the Interference-free Multipath and collaborative communication. In the routing process, use the idea of the opportunity-forward to determine the receive node, and combine with using the MAC layer RTS/CTS handshake mechanism to mark the state of the node. According to the RTS/CTS from different paths, nodes change the state. By the state of node, node determines whether it is the interference node. Avoid the interference nodes in the routing process, and then the multipath is non-interference. When the receiving node cannot receive the data correctly, then the node starts the collaborate communication to improve the delivery rate of the packet. Finally, this paper evaluates the performance of these protocols in different scenarios. In the case of different number of node and different speed of the node, from the four aspects of control head, end to end transmission delay, packet delivery ratio and the throughput to analyze these three protocols. The result of simulations shows that the performance of the OIMR protocol is better than another two protocols and is more suitable for the multimedia information transmit on the Ad hoc Network.
