As a detection instrument, the radar has played a role more and more important in the national economy and the national defence project. However, along with the development of military conflict in the new time, the operation environment of radar has become more and more complicated. It is well-known that, compared with other detection weapons, the main advantage of the radar consists of its full-time all-weather operation. At the same time, under certain situations the radar is required to face especial operation environment and it also will be affected by weather and other several natural phenomena which can reduce the detection performance of radar and even make the radar disabled from detecting targets. For example, sometimes the shipbased radar and groundbased radar face severe interference of clutter, including fixed clutter, dynamic clutter, etc., because of the especial operation environment. Here, the radar need to adopt effective technology of clutter suppression. The main principle of clutter suppression is frequency processing all the same. Using the difference between the Doppler frequencies of the target and the clutter, the radar realizes filtering processing, thereby it can achieve the purpose that suppresses clutter and displays moving targets. At present, the most used clutter suppression methods are MTI, MTD, PD, etc..The thesis firstly analyses the requirements of specifications of radar system under the PD operation mode according to the PD processing method. Then it introduces the design of signal waveform of radar when using PD processing, the design of FIR filter and range fuzzy method. Finally, the thesis simply introduces the actual application situation of PD processing mode on3D ground intelligence radar. It is easy to see that the PD mode has the certain suppression effect on clutter, which greatly increases the target detection possibility according to the actual application situation. But the clutter suppression is a system engineering, which needs the integrated application of various means to get the best effect. So the clutter suppression needs the further research.
