The three-dimensional surface profile is the parts which in the process manyfactors remain in different sizes and shapes of the surface micro-geometry of theparts. The surface morphology of the assessment from the traditional two-dimensional evaluation steering for the assessment of the three-dimensionalparameters.Traditional filters both in the theoretical design and method have been verymature. The Gaussian filter compared to the traditional filters and other deficienciesdid not form a complete design theory. However, as the time bandwidth product ofthe minimum ideal filter for the processing of the information of the surface of theobject in the three-dimensional surface measurement, having a good effect, so that itswide range of applications in the field of communication technology, imageprocessing, computer vision processing collar, and have important applications in thefield of signal processing and detection.Firstly, the characteristics of the Gaussian filter have been introduced in detail,these features include the unit impulse, unit step response, amplitude-frequency andphase-frequency characteristic. Through the analysis of these characteristics, thedesign of the Gaussian filter. And study the approximation method of Gaussian filter,focus on the Gaussian approximation Butterworth filter IIR digital filter realization.Roughness Evaluation datum is established the focus of discussion. Promotion of theone-dimensional Gaussian filter to the two-dimensional Gaussian filter, and thesuccess of the Gaussian filter is applied to a surface roughness measurement, whichhave achieved the international standard specifies the requirements, theestablishment of a three-dimensional surface morphology of the measured Gaussianfilter reference surface. Compared with traditional methods, the algorithm is simpleand easy to realize, roughness information parameter is assessed according to theGaussian reference face.This thesis presents the simulation result and the experiment result to the sample module of roughness, and carried out error analysis.
