With the development of information-based society, people have higher requirements on communication bandwidth and Quality of Service (QoS). For this, the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) organization arranged the3G Long Term Evolution (Long Term Evolution, LTE) scheme. As the next generation of communications technology, LTE can increase the data transfer rate, system capacity and coverage, and reduce system latency and operating costs. With these superiorities, LTE has become a hot issue of the moment. The uplink of the LTE system is required to provide higher data rate and better QoS on a limited bandwidth, and its control information is carried on the physical uplink control channel (PUCCH). As a basic condition of UE-attachment, a successful radio resource allocation of PUCCH is also the basement of signal and data exchange. Thus, it is significant to study the radio resource allocation scheme of PUCCH.The current PUCCH resource allocation schemes can satisfy the multi-UE’s allocation demand on the whole, but most of which are configured fixed and cannot be changed in real time, causing great inconvenience in developing and testing. The main subject of the paper is to study the PUCCH radio resource allocation scheme with flexible configuration and strong expansion, including the allocation process of SR, ACK/NACK and CQI, and the resolution of SR and CQI resource confliction. The main contents are listed as following:Firstly, based on the description of the LTE system architecture, the process flow of the entire uplink is introduced, especially on the multiplexing method, transmission mode, and the process flow of PUCCH.Secondly, following the description of the LTE uplink radio resource mapping, the principle of the PUCCH radio resource allocation is analyzed in detail, to illustrate how to ensure the success rate of resource allocation using multiplexing of time, frequency and code resources when multi-UE are getting attached.Thirdly, the detailed implementation process of the existing PUCCH resource allocation algorithm is describled, whose shortcomings are anylized next. Then an improved resource allocation scheme, binary tree resource allocation algorithm is introduced, with thorough description and anylize of its principles and advantages. Finally, coding the improved algorithm on the application platform to verify the binary tree algorithm, and the results show the improved binary tree algorithm is correct and applicable.
