In the current the era of information technology, wireless communications equipment is updating with each passing day, and the smartphone as the mainstay of wireless communications equipment, has become the main tool in office, and for communication, entertainment. The Android platform, relying on the advantage of its openness, is getting rapid development, and has been applied to various fields of the society. As the users of the smartphone are getting more and more, the traditional mobile phone software testing methods have become unable to meet the need of the communications industry now. Facing the rapidly developing Android operating system, we must try an efficient testing method-software test automation.Currently, the software automation test mainly includes three aspects:the management automation, function test automation, and performance test automation. Test automation refers to the fact the software system can execute the demand of its automation test using automation test tools or other means, in accordance with the test automation researcher’s expected plan. Its purpose is to improve the efficiency of the testing work, to guarantee and improve the quality of the software being tested. In communication industry field of the whole world, where the market is increasingly larger for smart phones, more and more mobile phone manufacturers, telecommunications operating carriers and handset software developers have joined in the Android camp. Android is the mobile devices operating system which Google has promoted just in recent years, but the rapid development of android in a relatively short period of time has amounted to, dominating half of the smartphone market. The trend, may predict the prosperity of the future Android market, so the author thinks that the Android system software automation test have very good prospects with broad application. Facing present domestic and overseas circumstances, this paper presents a test solution based on Android smartphone software automation.First, the paper starts by making brief introduction to the automation test industry background, introduces basic theories related to the automation test-compares with the traditional software test, expounding its advantages and disadvantages, and analyzed the necessity of the introduction of automation test. Second, to meet the needs of corporate customers and internal test, project the demand analysis are made, based on which the paper puts forward the integral design of the automated testing framework and implementation, and the analyzese and designs each module of the tool. In the end, system test and stress test are performed for the designed tool.
