Interactive infrared electron whiteboard is an input device with the function ofman-machine interaction based on a PC machine, which comprises an infrared inductionwhiteboard and corresponding application software. It is of great significance to thedevelopment of modern teaching, improving the previous teaching mode, breaking thetraditional teaching mode through, and realizing the human-machine interaction,teacher-student interaction, and resources interaction. Nowadays, with the rapiddevelopment of the information technology, it has been widely used in education,enterprises, government agencies and other meetings or training places with a broadapplication prospect.Positioning accuracy algorithm is one of the key technologies of electronicwhiteboard applications. After constant study of the positioning algorithm for years, wehave used many kinds of positioning algorithms in the infrared electronic whiteboard. Andto achieve high accuracy, high resolution, and high efficiency of localization is the hot spotand the difficult problem for the research. However, because of complex programcalculation of the positioning algorithm, infrared tube size and cost constraints, thetraditional positioning accuracy of the algorithm cannot meet the need of practicalapplication. A new positioning method is put forward in this essay, which is simpler toachieve high positioning accuracy and better results.Based on the interactive electronic whiteboard with infrared sensor technology, theinfrared light positioning technology with high precision and high light resistance is putforward in the essay. It improves both the systemic resolution and the real-time response,and it also integrates the excellent performance of all kinds of interactive electronicwhiteboards.This paper mainly focuses on the following aspects:(1) Introduce the research background and significance of whiteboard, summarize theresearch status abroad and at home, and points out that the study of electronicwhiteboard is crucial to the development of modern education in China.(2) Elaborate the working principles of all kinds of the electronic whiteboards basedon different sensing technologies. This article uses the infrared sensingtechnology as the theoretical basis, discussing the principles of this system andthe main components and introducing relative researches on infrared whiteboard localization.(3) This article suggests a new refined positioning algorithm, in which “relativeintensity value” is used to achieve the quantization of the infrared signal varyingvalue and is “normalized” into16levels, and at last “center of gravity” formula isapplied to obtain the touch point coordinate of the refined entity, that is theprecise location of the entity. At present, the algorithm has been applied to theinfrared electronic whiteboard design project.(4) Upper PC application is written with c#language, and this paper has completedthe interactive interface program. Stable and easy to expand, the whiteboardapplication software has similar application methods with traditional teachingtools. In order to facilitate teachers’ application, spotlight, the shadow mask andother teaching tools are provided.(5) Summarize the significance of the research and take a look of research work onthe whiteboard into distance.
