The practical multi-beam klystron is a device of high power microwave developedindependently,and researched by Soviet Union after many years.The novel powerdevices have been applied to radar,electronic warfare,telemetry, communication and soon. Multi-beam klystron adopt multi-beam electron technology.It retains the inherentcharacteristics of the single beam klystron, included high gain,high efficiency,high peakpower and average power,and also significantly improves the efficiency of bandwidthklystron and reduces the working voltage.Multi-beam klystron has mangyadvantages,such as wide frequency band, high gain,high efficiency, low voltage, lightweight, small volume, using the grid control to work, and represents a developmentdirection of microwave vacuum electronic devices.The multi-beam klystron as radartransmitter amplifier also has the advantages of wide bandwidth and high efficiency.The resonant cavity is an important part of multi-beam klystron tube,and thestructure and characteristics of the resonant cavity has a decisive influence on the outputpower, the efficiency, bandwidth and stability.The paper is centered around a series ofresearch and analysis of cavity of the C band bandwidth of multiple beam klystron.Toachieve the purpose of that guide the work of the future klystron development.The main work of this paper:The research object is the resonant cavity that the working mode is C band byTM110mode.Design two kinds of cavity of the cylindrical and rectangular structure.Byusing the HFSS3D electromagnetic simulation software, the two kinds of resonantcavity are carried out by theoretical analysis and calculation,and calculate the frequency,characteristics of distribution and resonant impedance mode value.Design the doublegap structure of the two kinds of resonant cavity, and calculate and simulate thefrequency,characteristics of distribution and resonant impedance mode value bycomputer.Study on the two kinds of rectangular resonant cavities that the working modes areC band high-order TM210mode and TM220mode.The single gap cavities under the twomodes and double gap cavities are analyzed and simulated calculation, and calculate the frequency,characteristics of distribution and resonant impedance mode value.Comparethe various parameters of high-order mode resonant cavity with the base mode cavitywith the same structure.For the rectangular resonant cavity of the high-order TM220mode,there are threekinds of non-working low order modes.Calculate and analyse the three kinds ofnon-working modes,and calculate the frequency and characteristics of distribution.Byusing the method of the absorption cavity being accessioned.According to the frequencycharacteristics of the three different low order modes,design the correspondingabsorption cavity.To solve the problems of the non-work low order modes oscillation.
