Continuing growth of Enterprise data, increasing needs of high-concurrency, high-capacity and unstructured data storage and limitation such as bandwidth, scalability, and other constraints cause the traditional architecture storage systems unable to adapt to changes in demand. Because of the characteristic advantages, the capability of independent upgrade, linear expansion (capacity incensement will not cause a performance bottleneck), for example, Cluster NAS Storage System becomes a better alternative in high-performance computing, animation rendering, radio television, geological prospecting and other areas.Cluster is composed of multiple nodes consisting of a collection of loosely coupled computing nodes that work together to provide services. Cluster consists of HPC, HAC and LBC, which represents high-performance cluster, high availability cluster and load balancing cluster, respectively. Cluster NAS Storage System is a storage system that can provide collaborative multiple nodes with high-performance, high-availability or high load balancing NAS (NFS/CIFS) services. In this thesis, a modular-based cluster NAS storage system is proposed based on the research of cluster NAS storage system mainstream technology architecture, key technology and the current primary cluster file system. Following the design ideas, the overall architecture design, hardware platform development and cluster NAS storage system management software development and a series of design and development work is done. Also, functionality, performance and stability of the implemented cluster storage system are evaluated objectively. A depth analysis of typical applications of the system is included as well.In the last, the cluster NAS storage system was analyzed and summarized.
