The development of space technology is a manifestation of a country’s comprehensive national strength, and the space target detection system plays an important role to the development of space technology. The core component of a space target detection system is a space detection camera, and a space detection camera imaging simulation system can improve the validation and testing process of this camera, so that it is worth doing to develop such a simulation system.A space detection camera imaging simulation system is proposed in this thesis. The system is based on several key technologies. Primary innovative works of this thesis can be summarized as follows:1. A method for modeling the surface reflection characteristics of a space target is proposed. This method is based on the studies of several bidirectional reflectance distribution function models by analyzing characteristics of them.2. A method for simulating the image of a space target is proposed. This method is based on the improved ray tracing technology using the Monte Carlo sampling method.3. A method for simulating the stellar background images is proposed. This method is based on several key technologies of stellar background imaging, such as star map screening, coordinate transformation, magnitude-grayscale transformation, astral effect modeling, etc.4. A space detection camera imaging simulation system is implemented based on the above studies. This system is developed using the C++programming language. Different experiments are made for testing the simulation results.The experimental results prove that this system can get good imaging results, so it can improve the design process of a space detection camera.
