As an important equipment of the manufacturing process, automobile welding line determines the overall quality of the car body. In this thesis, three core component of the welding line has been studied based on the detailed investigation and analysis of the development and characteristics of welding line.Firstly, the CATIA has been used to establish the digital model of horizontal conveying mechanism. During the design process, the idea of top-down has been reflected. The new conveying mechanism solved the instability of the existing equipment during the lifting process. Secondly, the clamping apparatus of the conveying device has been optimized from integrated fixture to folding fixture. Finally, the robot action path has been optimized with DELMIA. And the time for welding has been estimated. The results have a good reference value on improve production efficiency, shorten the production cycle and reduce production costs.
