The shadow network is a kind of internet system invested by America in2011. It can be established without a centralized hub and other default infrastructure. The shadow network node is a complex of mobile terminal and router. Node can always join the network and establish network connect with its neighbors. Nonadjacent nodes can communicate with each other in multi-hop mode. The shadow network has a strong survivability and its packets can hardly be intercepted. Reserching shadow network to find out its network structure and performance perameter is important to supervise and guide social consensus. On the other hand, As the Ad Hoc network, shadow network has such feature: no network center, self-organization, multi-hop routing and dynamic topology. Ad Hoc networks can be widely used in military and civilian fields. However, theoretical study is the lack of actual platform support, and the theoretical results and can not be accurately applied to the actual environment.Consequently, a Wi-Fi technology-based shadow network system is designed in this thesis. It can be used as research platform of shadow network and at same time, tests the research achievement of Ad Hoc network actually. This system is built on the ARM embedded platform. Nodes can join a network automatica, communicate whit each other by Wi-Fi, and relay the received data if necessary.In this system, PXA270, designed specially for embedded network terminal equipment by Intel, is used as the center chip. Benefit of it, this system can get powerful processing capabilities, while maintaining ultra-low power consumption. The Wi-Fi module is G2M5477. And the embedded GUI is made by Qt Cross-platform development kit. This thesis has completed the required main chips selection, the relevant circuit design, embedded system startup program, Linux kernel transplantation, file system transplantation, Qt transplantation, G2M5477module driver, framebuffer driver, test program and the embedded GUI.This system has tested in lab environment.
