Chinese chess, which has a long history and is both extensive and profound, is a traditional Chinese art treasures and cultural quintessence, it is deeply loved by the people. In recent years, with the rise of national scientific and technological strength and the promotion of international status, a wave of Chinese chess frenzy is gradually rising in Asia and the world. Under the lead of high-tech technology, many related scientific and technical personnel have achieved significant research results in the computer chess game, chess robotics and other fields. The confrontation of intelligent robots and chess master also attracts people’s attention. With the vigorous development of computer chess game technology, intelligent board is also developing toward the direction of the science and modernization development.The thesis designed an intelligent board based on multi-sensor fusion. The system is one kind of chart magnetic hybrid coding chess system, it consists of pieces based on chart magnetic hybrid coding, chessboard constituted by image and magnetic array and the embedded system of comprehensive control function. Through a variety of sensor information fusion to identify the presence and specific location of chess pieces and other information, lower machine uses ARM controller for data acquisition and processing, and the serial port with the Cortex-A8processor for data transmission by the specified data communication. Currently, intelligent board mostly relys on computer as a core control system, but computer volume is relatively large and not inconvenient to carry and move, embedded system is small, functional, high collection degree, and the function that the software and hardware can be cut appropriately, the embedded system for intelligent board can miniature the system and improve mobility of intelligent board. Upper monitor, which uses Qt interface for real-time display of the distribution of chess pieces and cites the Chinese chess, which is called agent, can give the analysis of the current position on the interface board.Through continuous testing and improvement, the system could eventually provide automatic identification, recording and playback in the process of Chinese chess. The system interface can be synchronous with the process of playing chess and accurately identify the distribution of each chess piece on board. This system can also timely detect the wrong place chess and situation of playing chess. At the same time, this design has the function of automatic recording time and voice for help, and can make use of the projector for the game live.
